UI has a degree program in sustainability, which is School of Environmental Science (SIL)

Courses on SDGs

To support the SDGs, UI offers dedicated courses on specific SDGs, which can be accessed through UI MOOCs for both the public and UI students.

Good Health and Well-being
  • Independent Life and How to Adapt to New Environment
    This course is developed for senior high school and university students to improve their mental health and cope with the stressors during their studies.
  • Malnutrition
    This course studies malnutrition. After studying it, students are expected to understand physiological changes in malnutrition, Macronutrient regulation in malnutrition 3, and Micronutrient regulation in malnutrition 4.
  • Allergies Treatment and Child
    This course will learn about the definition, pathophysiology, clinical manifestations, and management of allergies in children, especially the management of severe allergic reactions or anaphylaxis.
  • Independent Life and How to Adapt to New Environment
    This course will learn about the definition, pathophysiology, clinical manifestations, and management of allergies in children, especially the management of severe allergic reactions or anaphylaxis.

  • Concrete technology
    This course will teach about the characteristics and properties of concrete materials, including regular concrete, high-strength concrete, and very high-strength concrete. It will also study several other types of concrete, such as porous concrete and self-compacting concrete.
  • Land Legality and Spatial Planning
    This course studies how to know and understand land legality status and spatial regulations for simple residential houses so that the community can design and build simple residential houses that meet applicable requirements.
  • Industry Transformation
    This course will study sociological approaches to transformation and work change, the development of production systems and capitalism and work change, Changes in the organization of production: Fordism and Post-Fordism, and Digital transformation, gig economy, and work change.

  • Reduced Inequality
    This course studies an introduction to sign language, Deaf World: identity and accessibility, history of deafness in Indonesia, Phonetics: phonological parameters in Sign Language, Phonology: minimal pairs and phonological conditions, and Morphology: sign language formation process.
Sustainable Cities and Communities
  • Local Communities 
    This content discusses research about problems in Papua that must be resolved. With civil rights and ECOSOC resolution, Melanesians in the Pacific will recognize Indonesia as part of Melanesia.
  • Maritime in Historical and Cultural Perspective
    Indonesia’s archipelago is a challenge in itself as an archipelago country. This Focus Group Discussion discusses solutions and strategies to solve these challenges.
  • Regional Planning
    This class covers urban and Regional Planning in Indonesia, urban villages, Smart City Development in Indonesia, Green Infrastructure, and sustainable urban transportation.
  • Blue Urban
    Urban Experiments, Circulations, and Placemaking as Sea Level Change Adaptation.
Responsible Consumption and Production
  • Product Design
    Participants of this class are expected to be able to understand the basic concepts and series of product design, understand user requirements and engineering specifications, and understand prototypes and their types.
Partnership for the Goal
  • SDGs Open Content
    Many social and humanitarian problems in the world make the SDGs, or Sustainable Development Goals, an important action to be carried out by many countries.
  • International Conference.
    The annual conference by the School of Strategic and Global Studies (SSGS) Universitas Indonesia has Deakin University, PPIA Victoria, and PPIA Deakin as collaborators in pursuing global discourse derived from critical thinking and multi/inter/trans/cross-disciplinary approaches.
